Analytic Definition of Curves and Surfaces by Parabolic Blending
نویسنده
چکیده
SUMMARY A procedure for interpolating between specified points of a curve or surface is described. The method guarantees slope continuity at all junctions. A surface panel divided into p × q contiguous patches is completely specified by the coordinates of (p + 1) × (q + 1) points. Each individual patch, however , depends parametrically on the coordinates of 16 points, allowing shape flexibility and global conformity.

TENSION QUARTIC TRIGONOMETRIC BÉZIER CURVES PRESERVING INTERPOLATION CURVES SHAPE
In this paper simple quartic trigonometric polynomial blending functions, with a tensionparameter, are presented. These type of functions are useful for constructing trigonometricB´ezier curves and surfaces, they can be applied to construct continuous shape preservinginterpolation spline curves with shape parameters. To better visualize objects and graphics atension parameter is included. In th...

B-spline curves and surfaces and their suitability for ship hull surface definition are discussed. A comparison with other curve and surface definition methods, e.g., cubic splines, Bézier curves, parabolic blending is given. Their use both for ab initio curve and surface generation and for fitting existing offset data is discussed. Comparisons of the data storage requirements are made. The uti...
متن کاملInterpolating solid orientations with circular blending quaternion curves
This paper presents a method to smoothly interpolate a given sequence of solid orientations using circular blending quaternion curves. Given three solid orientations, a circular quaternion curve is constructed that interpolates the three orientations. Therefore, given four orientations q i?1 ; q i ; q i+1 ; q i+2 , there are two circular quaternion curves C i and C i+1 which interpolate the tri...
متن کاملSemi-structured B-spline for blending two B-spline surfaces
Surface blending is a useful operation in geometric design for rounding sharp edges or corners. Meanwhile, NURBS has already become the de facto industrial standard in existing CAD/CAM systems. Therefore, it is required to study how to blend two B-spline surfaces. However, two arbitrary B-spline surfaces (called base surfaces) are hard to be blended with a B-spline surface (called blending surf...
متن کاملBlending of Surfaces of Revolution and Planes by Dupin cyclides
This paper focuses on the blending of a plane with surfaces of revolution relying on Dupin cyclides, which are algebraic surfaces of degree 4 discovered by the French mathematician Pierre-Charles Dupin early in the 19th century. A general algorithm is presented for the construction of two kinds of blends: pillar and recipient. This algorithm uses Rational Quadric Bézier Curves (RQBCs) to model ...
